Delete your data
Last updated 2 November 2026
Rooto has no accounts, so there is no account to close. The little that reaches our servers is tied to a random install identifier, and you can have it deleted in one email.
How to request deletion
- Email [email protected] with the subject Delete my Rooto data.
- Include your install identifier so we can find your records: in the app, tap the palette button on the map, then About Rooto, then Copy next to the Install ID. We cannot look anything up by name, email or phone number, because the app never collects them.
- We delete the records within 30 days and reply to confirm. Nothing else is needed from you.
To remove everything stored on the phone itself, delete the app. Your trip history, saved places and downloaded maps live only on your device and go with it.
What is deleted
- Hazard reports you submitted (these expire on their own within 30 minutes to 24 hours anyway).
- Trips you shared and their links.
- Wrong-way safety records and diagnostic reports tied to your install.
- The install record itself, including whether the install had a subscription.
What is kept, and for how long
- Nothing tied to you after the deletion is done. A subscription stays visible to Apple or Google in your store account, which they control, not us.
- Anonymous, aggregated counts (for example how many routes were requested in a day) hold no identifier and are not personal data.
- Without a request, safety records and diagnostic reports are deleted after 90 days, shared trips a week after the share ends, and hazard reports when they expire.
What Rooto never had
